Authorities in East Bay have given a “clear” for Port Costa after a fast-moving 108-acre wildfire burned dangerously close to the houses.
All evacuation orders have been lifted and firefighters will remain on site overnight to continue working towards full containment. The fire is 50% fought.
According to CAL FIRE, the planes at the scene, while the fire was high, reported “irregular behavior.”
Officials say progress has been halted on a 71-acre wildfire burning near Sunol and Pleasanton. The fire, which is 10% under control, is burning on the ridge between Fremont and Pleasanton, according to fire officials.
In an interview with ABC7 News, a CAL FIRE official said there is a threat to transmission lines.
All evacuation orders for Kilkare Rd. in Sunol and the Golden Eagle Estates in Pleasanton have been repealed.
CAL FIRE says crews will remain on site overnight to continue working toward full containment.
Progress has been halted on this fire burning near the Valero refinery.
Benicia Police Department tweeted the following: “Our public safety dispatchers receive overwhelming reports of the grass fire on Corte Dorado near the Valero refinery. We are aware and @BeniciaFire is on site. Please follow @BeniciaFire for the latest updates on the situation.”
Byen Benicia tweeted“Due to natural fire smoke, people in sensitive groups such as those with heart or lung disease, the elderly, children and pregnant women should limit prolonged outdoor activities. Consider keeping doors and windows closed. If cooling is required, return to recycling mode.”
This fire is burning near Vacaville.
According to CAL FIRE, the fire was originally 39 acres, but has since been reduced to 26 acres, and is 80% contained. Progress has been halted. Firefighters will be in the area for the next few hours, working on containment and extinguishing hot spots.
CAL FIRE says the 20-acre Edgewood Fire burning in San Mateo County is now 95% enclosed. All evacuation orders have been downgraded to fire alarms with six alarms.
PG&E has filed an incident report to the California Public Utilities Commission out of an abundance of caution due to numerous media inquiries following this fire.
According to an incident report submitted by PG&E to the California Public Utilities Commission, CAL FIRE collected PG&E equipment from the Emerald Lake Distribution Circuit near Edgewood Fire.
The report says the equipment was collected about half a mile away from the place where the fire originally started.
When we reached out to PG&E, the spokesman did not comment directly on the incident report, saying that the cause of the fire is in part still under investigation.
CAL FIRE says crews are responding to a vegetation fire that broke out in the Tesla Road and Corral Hollow Road areas of a remote area of Alameda County 18 miles southeast of Livermore.
Officials say the fire is now on about 300 acres with 10% containment.
Firefighters will remain on the scene until Thursday night as they work toward full containment.
