Sheffield hunt for a 12-year-old girl has been sexually assaulted on a walk home from school

The incident took place shortly after 3pm on Tuesday (June 21) when the girl was walking on the path leading from Stradbroke Road to Coisley Hill.

A 12-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by an unknown man as she was walking on the path between Coisley Hill and Stradbroke Road.

The man is described as white, about 5 feet 6 tall, by a muscular build with red spots on his face, blue / gray eyes and graying stubble. He was wearing a black, long-sleeved shirt, black or gray pants or jeans, dark-colored shoes or boots, a black hat with a fold around the edge and a black face covering.

Detective Chris Ronayne, who is leading the investigation, said: “The victim of this attack has shown great bravery in reporting this to us and she continues to be supported by her family and specialist services.

“We would like to hear from anyone who was in this area at the time of the attack and may have noticed something suspicious, please contact us. Have you seen anyone strolling in the area or behaving suspiciously?

“We are particularly keen to talk to two schoolgirls who the victim saw as she walked along the path. Please come forward and talk to us as you can help us with our investigation.”
