Seekers lead singer Judith Durham has died aged 79

Judith Durham, one of Australia’s best-loved entertainers, has died aged 79.

Born in Essendon, Victoria, Durham recorded his first EP aged 19 and rose to worldwide fame as the lead singer of folk group The Seekers, who sold more than 50 million records.

Durham left the group to go solo in 1968.

She was named Victorian of the Year in 2015.
