Written by Javed Iqbal

The Deer Lake RCMP warns of some suspicious activity reported in the city in recent days.

Police received a report from a teenage girl who was approached on Wednesday at a local coffee shop by a man and woman believed to be French.

The unknown woman approached one of a group of teenagers and stated that she had a modeling agency and recruited models.

The woman then exchanged phone numbers with the teenager.

The woman is described as in her mid-40s, tall and slender with long reddish-brown hair and wearing an orange motorcycle jacket.

The man is described as in his late 50s with a salt and peppery beard and black hair that had been sanded back.

Both the man and the woman were wearing motorcycle equipment and traveling on an orange sports motorcycle.

The RCMP is interested in talking to the couple to ascertain their intentions and ask residents to report any suspicious activity. They also remind parents to talk to their children to determine if they may have been contacted by the couple as well.

Anyone with information should contact the Deer Lake RCMP at 635-2173.
