The latest: The UN has expressed hope that the first grain shipments from blocked Ukrainian ports could start on Friday. However, the exact coordinates needed to ensure safe passage for ships were still being negotiated on Thursday, UN aid chief Martin Griffiths said said.
The fight: Russia’s recent operational pause, which analysts have identified in recent weeks as an attempt to regroup troops before doubling down on Ukraine’s south and east, appears to be over. Russia appears to be resuming offensives on the groundwith Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on Saturday telling troops to intensify attacks “in all operational sectors” in Ukraine.
The weapons: Ukraine makes use of weapons such as Javelin anti-tank missiles and Switchblade “kamikaze” drones, provided by the United States and other allies. Russia has used one range of weapons against Ukraine, some of which have attracted the attention and concern of analysts.
