After the accident on August 2, footage was shared by horrified bystanders showing the father confronting Mr Tase.

In the video, Mr Avdia is seen struggling with Mr Tase after the white speedboat returns to shore.

Sir. Tase was expected to appear in court on Friday on charges of manslaughter, according to local media.

The young girl’s death led to protests across Albania demanding the removal of the prime minister, the interior minister, the tourism minister and the police chief, whom protesters blamed for the incident.

Tourism Minister Mirela Kumbaro blamed the national police chief for the crash, the third accident of this type to occur on the beaches of Albania this summer.

“An angel is no longer among us because of the stupidity of a man who broke every law, every rule and every norm with tragically irrevocable consequences,” she told the Albanian Daily News.

“Aware that there are no words to serve as a consolation for the parents, the family for the tragedy they have suffered, the request goes to the court to do its job, without compromise, with maximum punishment for anyone who breaks the law .”

Immediately after, police chief Gledis Nano fired about 15 officers who were supposed to patrol the beach that day.
