Dramatic video shows fire in the village near Cambridge

Written by Javed Iqbal

A large fire near Fulbourn has been captured on camera by a local resident. Eyewitnesses said thick smoke appeared to come from a car on fire.

Scott Bond, a member of the Balsham Village Facebook group, posted two videos of billowing black smoke near houses in Fulbourn around 3.30pm yesterday (June 25). The fire is believed to have taken place on Balsham Road in Fulbourn, a village near Cambridge.

Scott described the location as close to the “new houses that you first came to Fulbourn by the harassment facing lay-by”. Fulbourn is located southeast of Cambridge and is approximately two miles from the A11.

Scott said: “I think it may be the car. Helped redirect traffic until services arrived.”

A commentator on the video said everything was ready at 5:44 p.m. It is not presumed that there was any personal injury after the incident.
