Sky News presenter Chris Kenny says politicians in Canberra are “ramping up” the push for nuclear power as parliamentary friends of the nuclear scene a special forum at Parliament House today and tomorrow.

Nationals MP Dr. David Gillespie spoke to Sky News host Chris Kenny about their plans for reliable nuclear power in Australia.

“Looking at the 2050 plan, one of our economists analyzed that it will cost $1.27 trillion to achieve their step change plan by 2050,” said Dr. Gillespie to Mr. Kenny.

“It’s cheap, it’s reliable, it’s safe, and this new wave of interest in the small modular reactors is only going to accelerate.

“We really need to start getting our legislative situation right, remove the ban so we can get accurate costs for Australia.”
