A five-year-old boy has survived a terrifying snake attack in Byron Bay.

The boy was walking on the edge of the pool at his home when a 3 meter long python is believed to have come from the garden and bit into his leg.

The boy and the snake ended up in the pool, where his father said the snake quickly wrapped itself around the boy’s leg.

His 76-year-old grandfather jumped into the pool to save him.
