Available support for first aiders involved in fatal crashes near Bishop’s Falls

First aiders who attended instead of a horrific fatal accident on the Trans-Canada Highway this week say they are holding out.

Wednesday evening frontal collision Involvement of two heavily loaded tractor trailers cost the two drivers their lives and caused a fire that consumed both vehicles.

Both Grand Falls-Windsor and Bishop’s Falls Fire Department rushed to the scene.

Bishop’s Falls fire chief Gary Harnum says his members have access to support if needed.

He says they have teams in place in all the local fire departments that members have access to if needed. In their own fire department, they have two pastors who are available to help.
