Australia needs to move from ‘fear to fact’ on small nuclear modules

Siyeva Consulting Principal Adi Paterson says Australia needs to move from “fear to facts” around small nuclear modules and from the “fable of renewables” to sustain baseload power.

“We’re seeing people come to the realization that intermittent renewable energy is completely at odds with how we actually want to have our power,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“The key issue is that nuclear power, if you say it very quickly, can sound scary or expensive.

“But if you integrate modern small modular plants into the existing grid like we have … we can have these safe, always-on, always-available plants and keep the price of electricity down.”
